Wherever You're Starting, We'll Map the Way.
Get certified for the experience you already have.
Recognition of Prior Learning lets an RTO assess the skills you use every shift — so you don't re-study what you already know.
- For carers, support workers, educators and assistants
- Overseas experience can count too
Start a rewarding career that's in demand.
No experience yet? A course with a work placement, such as the Certificate III in Individual Support, is the usual first step into aged care and disability work.
- Help choosing the right course and provider
- We'll check whether any government-funded places may apply
What is Recognition of Prior Learning?
RPL lets a Registered Training Organisation assess the skills you've already built on the job. Instead of sitting through a full course, you show evidence of your real work with clients. If the RTO's assessors find you've demonstrated every required competency, they can issue a nationally recognised qualification.
New to healthcare? RPL needs existing experience, so a course is your starting point — we'll help you choose one.
Don't Start This Certification Process Unless…
RPL takes time, effort and money — so there's no point going for it unless one of these is on your list.
Check My RPL EligibilityNone fit? It may not be worth your money — and we'll say so.
New to healthcare? A full course is the right first step — we can help with that too.
Clarity Before Commitment.
After your free 10-minute check, you get an Evidence Readiness Summary — including the relevant RTO and estimated costs, where available — before we ever ask you to proceed or pay.

Evidence You Have
The references, records and certificates you may be able to use.

Recommended Next Step
Proceed, collect more evidence, or consider another pathway such as a funded course.
Find Your Qualification.
Gain them through RPL if you're experienced, or through a course if you're starting out. We'll help you work out which route fits.
Can't see your qualification? Choose "Other health role" in the eligibility check and tell us what you do.
From Experience to Assessment.

What Could Count as Evidence?
The RTO decides what's sufficient — but most of it is already in your inbox, your HR portal or your training folder.

Proof of how long and how often you've worked in the role.
Position descriptions
Show the scope of care tasks your job actually involves.
Supervisor reports
A manager, RN or team leader confirms you perform specific tasks.
Certificates & short courses

Screening checks

ID, USI & resume
100 points of ID, visa if applicable, your USI and transcript, and an updated resume.
Client records
Care plans, notes or photos of clients stay private. We'll show you what's appropriate.
RPL Documents Checklist
- Every document to gather — ID, USI, references, payslips, certificates
- What a strong statement of service includes
- Common mistakes that slow an assessment down

What the Journey Can Look Like.
Example pathways showing how RPL commonly works in healthcare — illustrative, not individual client results.
"I'd been doing personal care for years. I just never had the certificate to show for it."
"I was already training new staff. I wanted my qualification to match that."
"Most of my evidence was already in my HR portal. I just didn't know how to put it together."
"I thought my overseas hospital work wouldn't count here."
RPL outcomes depend on each person's skills, experience, supporting evidence and the independent assessment of the relevant RTO.
Don't Take Our Word For It.
"The team was very supportive, professional and responsive throughout the whole process. Everything was smooth and clear."
"Their main value is guiding and helping students reach their goal."
"He guided me throughout the whole process and made the whole process quick and easy."
"They've made the whole process of understanding the study options much easier for me."
