Can I get the Certificate III in Carpentry through RPL?

Possibly, if you already do this work. A registered training organisation (RTO) assesses evidence of your skills against all 34 units. If you meet every requirement, it issues the full qualification. If there are gaps, it may recommend gap training.

I'm a contractor on an ABN. Can I still apply?

Yes. Invoices, ABN records, client references and dated photos of your jobs can all be evidence. The RTO decides what is sufficient.

What happened to CPC30220?

CPC30220 was replaced by CPC30326 in September 2026. The new qualification is listed as equivalent. RTOs may still be finishing CPC30220 during the transition period.

Do I need a white card?

General construction induction training is mandatory for anyone carrying out construction work. The unit CPCCWHS2001 covers it and is a prerequisite for most carpentry units.

Will I be assessed practically?

Usually, yes. Besides your documents, the RTO may observe you working on site or set practical tasks, and may interview you about your work.

Does this qualification give me a builder's licence?

No. It is a trade qualification. Licensing for building work is handled by each state or territory, often with extra requirements. We can point you to your state's regulator.

Is it the same qualification as doing it at TAFE?

Yes. It is the same nationally recognised CPC30326 qualification whichever way you complete it.

What happens if the RTO can't issue my qualification?

For RPL, our 100% money-back guarantee applies: if, after assessing all your evidence, the RTO can't issue your qualification, you get a full refund. Full conditions are in our Terms of Service.

How long does it take and what does it cost?

It depends on the route, the provider and, for RPL, how quickly you gather your evidence. You get the provider, cost and an estimated timeline before you decide anything.

Is getting the qualification guaranteed?

No. It is issued only when the RTO finds you have met every requirement. That is what keeps it nationally recognised.
