Can I get the Diploma of Hospitality Management through RPL?

Possibly, if you already do this work. A registered training organisation (RTO) assesses evidence of your skills against all 28 units. If you meet every requirement, it issues the full qualification. If there are gaps, it may recommend gap training.

Do I need to be a manager already?

For RPL, you need evidence of the management-level work the units describe, such as rostering, budgeting, leading staff and handling customer service issues. If you're not there yet, studying may suit you better.

Which electives will I get?

You need 17 electives across set groups. They are agreed with the RTO to suit your job — for example front office, food and beverage, cookery, events or gaming.

Will I be assessed in a workplace?

Some units require evidence from a real or simulated hospitality workplace. For RPL, your current job usually provides it. The RTO decides what it accepts.

Is it the same qualification as doing it at TAFE?

Yes. It is the same nationally recognised SIT50422 qualification whichever way you complete it.

What happens if the RTO can't issue my qualification?

For RPL, our 100% money-back guarantee applies: if, after assessing all your evidence, the RTO can't issue your qualification, you get a full refund. Full conditions are in our Terms of Service.

How long does it take and what does it cost?

It depends on the route, the provider and, for RPL, how quickly you gather your evidence. You get the provider, cost and an estimated timeline before you decide anything.

Is getting the qualification guaranteed?

No. It is issued only when the RTO finds you have met every requirement. That is what keeps it nationally recognised.
